Located between Woodroffe Avenue to the west, Maitland Avenue to the east, Carling Avenue to the north, and the Queensway to the south, Glabar Park is a quiet and family-friendly neighbourhood only a fifteen minute drive from downtown Ottawa. With a population of around 2650 in the most recent Canadian census, the area has an active and involved community.
Local schools and amenities
Glabar Park is removed from the bustle of the city while still having all of the necessary amenities nearby. Carlingwood Mall, which features dozens of retail stores, restaurants, banks and a grocery store, is less than a five-minute drive away. The neighbourhood is also close to several schools, including D. Roy Kennedy Public School for school-aged children, and Algonquin College for young adults and professionals. For nature lovers, Glabar Park is home to two beautiful parks: Kingsmere Park, which features a community ice rink in the winter, and Castlewood Park, which is one of Ottawa’s dog-friendly spaces.
