Centrepointe Homes: Finding the Right One

Centrepointe was originally miles of farmland, but was sold in the 1980’s to Minto Corporation, one of Ottawa’s largest housing developers. Since then, it has become a family-friendly neighbourhood and lively community with plenty to offer homebuyers.

Community Feel

Located in the west end of Ottawa, Centrepointe is unofficially bordered by Baseline Road to the north, Woodroffe Avenue to east, the CN railroad to the south, and Briargreen to the west. The most recent Canadian census indicates that the neighbourhood has a population of around 7555. Centrepointe is popular amongst families and young professionals, as it offers safe and quiet surroundings only a twenty-minute drive from the heart of Ottawa.

Local Schools and Amenities

There are a number of schools around the Centrepointe area for children of all ages, including Briargreen Public School, Manordale Public School, Knoxdale Public School, Greenbank Middle School and Sir Robert Borden High School. The neighbourhood is close to everything from shopping and public transportation to its own branch of the Ottawa Public Library. A highlight of the area is Centrepointe Park, which features more than 35 acres of well-maintained greenery. The park is a community playground year-round, with a splash pad in the summer and an outdoor rink in the winter. Another community favourite is Centrepointe Theatres, which first opened its doors in May 1988 and has since become a staple of the Ottawa art scene. Mostly run by volunteers, it features everything from music and dance to theatre and comedy.
